Challenge: Night Shot II (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Surrounding Seattle area Washington
Date: Oct 16, 2004
Aperture: 36
ISO: 800
Shutter: 10
Galleries: Cityscape, Action
Date Uploaded: Oct 17, 2004

I took this at the curb across from the shell gas station, under a umbrella due to the rain coming down. 10 seconds was the time value I used. I used my Canon 18-55mm lens, set at 55. I played with the levels a little bit in Adobe. This is my first night shot. I just joined up with dpchallenge today to get some feedback on my photos. Here's one.

Um, I'm sorry, but this is still one of my favorites from this challenge... 4.7? That's a ridiculously low score for this... I think I gave you the 10 here.

Traffic trails are always fun shots. I don't care for the exposure on this one though. The road is too blown out and the bg is too dark for me. How long was the exposure? Did you do it manually or did you use aperture priority and was the road wet? Try this again on dry road and maybe not so close to overhead lighting...? I do like the composition you chose, though.

You tried a good shot here, but somehow this didn't come out nice...blur on the lights is distracting. did you use a tripod ? I don't know why your light sources are so blurred

I think the idea here was good. Could have worked for me had the exposure been better (less glare and better focus). Keep working on it and good luck.

I like this take on the night street scene. It's gritty and interesting.
