Challenge: The Orton Effect (Advanced Editing VII)

There are streets in Manhattan Beach known as "walk streets" in that they have a name (like 8th Place) but are pedestrian only. This is one of those. The houses on these streets are in the stratospheric range price-wise. But they're also subject to lots and lots of foot traffic of people wandering by.

Duplicated the layer, blurred, brightened, used the multiply blending mode, then had to lighten the bottom a bit.

Really? THAT bad?? It makes a wonderful screen on my phone, by the way.

Some outtakes, equally sucky, I'm sure:

I love the lamposts, gave this a 6, a lovely scene indeed, I'm thinking maybe the colourful images scored better, not in all cases though.

Love the petunia! My daughter lives in Hermosa Beach CA and they have streets like this too, in fact I thought it might be there. I don't think I would like to live along one of those passage ways.

Hey. You stole those lampposts from Magritte.

I love this photo, and I LOVE your subtle Orton effect. Mine didn't do very well in this challenge either because I'm guessing my Orton effect was too subtle. It's okay tho, they may have wanted overcooked in the challenge, but I still think subtle Orton makes a better photo. Nice job!

Comment. Didn't get a one. But to be fair, I didn't leave any comments either this time. Serves me right.
