I would of cropped the sky out my eye is drawn up there and it's not all that attractive, apart from that it's not a bad idea.

I wish the background/colored part were in focus... even if you had to chose against the foreground in focus to make that happen.

Cropping out the sky would create a better composition, in my opinion. I do like the whimsy. The doorway invites you in to a new world on the other side.
