Pre-challenge thought: This will tank.
But ministry is ministry.

First two votes were 1s. I fully expected no less. I find it funny that my pro-life post from years ago had a more evenly polarizing effect. But I think this goes to show the hypocrisy of the voters here on DPC.
"Think outside the box"
"Don't use such a narrow definition of the theme"
"Don't downvote something just because you don't like the content"
I think as far as a photo goes, it deserves in the meh range of a 5.5. Photographing text on a page is not thrilling I give you that. But my eye says it's well composed and well processed.
But clearly voters are either voting it low because "they feel" it doesn't fit the challenge (it clearly does as "bridge" is not defined anywhere in DPC as being a spanning structure; or they don't like the content.
I used to (many years ago) hand out 1s for DNMC and for photos with nudity. Since then I've adopted a -3 penalty for DNMC and I just skip all nudes (which fortunately are far less common these days).
Anyway, I cherish my score, however low it may be. Thank you for verifying many many things about DPC.

After a full day+ of voting, I'm surprised this has actually climbed above 3. Thank you to those to who refuse to give 1s and 2s no matter what. :)
While I was in the 2.7 range yesterday, I thought that I might be one of the lowest scores on DPC, but then a quick look at the history shows that wouldn't even make the front page of the low scores. Regardless, I'm pretty sure I will get my virtual brown ribbon finally. To do so with a photo meeting the challenge and not just a blurry, screen-cap on mess is an honor. :)

Hanging in the high 3.2-3.3 range now...
Funny that no matter what the first number is, it's always exciting when the last four numbers increase. :)

At 101 votes, 3.4752 is the score. Very very shocked it climbed so high. Having voted, I'm worried now I might come in second to last place AGAIN. However, this is the first time I've ever entered expecting a brown.

Well darn... ended up a 3.5 and bride's maid again.
But against this I had no chance...

Aha! A DQ gives me the brown! |

I thought this was a great fit for the challenge. But I thought the lighting was a bit flat, and the grayness made it a bit hard for my eyes to read. 5 from me. |

I think you misread the challenge description.
It says: "They help you get across."
Not: "They help you get a cross."
:-p |

While I am a true believer in this, and respect your view of this fitting into the challenge; for me, it is not "in the spirit of the challenge" in a challenge for Bridges. |

Clever take on the subject but not really in the spirit of the challenge? |
