did not vote in the ‘poverty’ challenge because I am by all earnings am poverty due to illness that has kept me out of work all year. For that reason I did not think I could vote without being bias, I didn’t want my personal experience effect my scoring, just my decision. It may have been the right judgment or not.
I like your photo it does represent poverty in several ways including the synonyms of poverty.
1. You ‘lacked’ the camera you would like to have: lack is a synonym of poverty.
2. You picture showed ‘poor quality’. Not being rude: Poor Quality is a synonym of poverty.
For those reasons, which make your photo meet the challenge and the humor involved I would of given you a 6. Good photo!

it's funny, but nothing else in terms of composition or lighting really stuck out.

LMAOOO 10 for humour! I would have been more ambitious though, would have asked for a 1Ds Mark II ;)

Well a bit of humour was needed in this challenge as well I guess, but as a Nikon owner I must say that you lack more than money.. :-)

Not a fan of the purple tint. Cute message, but a little too cliche' to give a high score.

To me the grain doesn't work here. Also, cropping was way to tight to draw interest to your shot.

This made me smile and laugh out loud...as I was just today contemplating the draw between a Canon 20D or lesser model...insert my head in that picture as well. LOL

:) LOL. Nice idea, but I am really missing seeing the person's head. My eyes are just led that way and then - nothing!

Hey, let me know if this works! I'll give it a try! Hope people aren't blasting you too much for your sense of humor. I really find it quiet appropriate. All of us are sitting here with $1000 plus cameras and trying to capture the essence of poverty. That's one of the reasons I didn't enter this one. Good luck :D

I don't know what your intentions were but I feel there is enough room for thinking this photograph. At first I thought, this is tasteless, but then I thought, Is this a slap in the face of us techno junkies with digital cameras and pc computers? Maybe, maybe not, perhaps you just submitted this shot as a joke, I don't know. At least you got me looking in the mirror of your photograph.

Lol! I would say that YOU needed the 20D more than that guy does cause of all the ISO noise (unless this is a self portrait of course) but this shot made me smile though.

Humorous outlook on the subject. The photo itsself seems grainy and I think that's what you were going for, but I don't prefer it. usually, I would cringe at the sight of a cropped off head, but strangely enough, I feel that it works in this photo. Kind of like a shame thing. overall nice take onthe challenge. ~Heather~
