Since this photo has the highest comments so far, I thought I would give a general response to the comments.
I felt because of the nature of the topic that not showing the face would show more respect for the person. I did have another shot with his legs but rejected because it revealed too much of the face.
It had been raining just hours before, which explains the less than bright lighting. It's a little soft because this was a hand held shot while in my car at the stop sign near the recycling center.
I agree that the image is very cluttered, and the original was worse. This is why I cropped tight yet it still tells the story. I attempt to tell the story as if I could not add the title.
The levels were adjusted for more saturation on the red and blue to help separate the forground objects from the background, and the yellow was partially desaturated to make those yellow posts fade a bit. Because the jacket got so much attention I may have added too much saturation.
The surprise to me was when editing, I noticed he only has one hand, thus the title reference.
Left in only enough of the sign to tell the story.
Thanks again for all the comments.

Normally I would say a little too much going on, but it works with this challenge and this shot |

At least he is wearing the brand name Nike jacket? Do you think you could sell it to Nike and have them post a big bill board? Do you think this is the kind of image they want for the swoosh?? |

Nice subject for the Challenge, but a little murky. |

Wanted to joke about Nike but i guess its not in place.
Could add bit more contrast and cut recycling. |

Good shot, not over colourful, but main subject stands out nicely from the background. It works well, Good Luck. |

you should have either cut the sign out or put the whole thing in... The bottom of the bag and the guys feet are also cut off.... |

It´s a bit flat, could use a contrast boost but other than that, an average shot. There is too much clutter in the backround for this to work flawlessly but not bad either. |

Definately says poverty. Makes me want to go collect bottles so I can get me a Nike jacket. Focus is a bit soft, and lighting conditions seem to have been poor this day? I wonder if you played with the levels if that might give this a bit more punch. Good representation of the challenge though. |
