Wow, I didn't see a ribbon coming here - and a Yellow completes the set :)

This is taken in the graveyard of St Giles, a small Thirteenth century church, in the village of Skelton. The graveyard isn't mown until later in the summer to allow the spring and early summer flowers and grasses to flourish. It really is very peaceful. The graveyard is full and so a new seperate graveyard - dull and formal - was created (I actually typed planted, which is maybe a better word) outside the village.

When I look at the little icon of this image I can see a lady with her arms spread open and her head down, lovely and well done with all the well deserved bling.

Just lovely. Beautifully photographed and processed.the delicate weeds are a perfect foil to the heavy stones.

I love the wispy-ness of this image. The lighting, the living grass in contrast to the old, weathered, hard stone. Somehow, for me, this is a hopeful image - that the cold hard reality of death is being swallowed by life and light.

The soft light, shallow DOF, partial headstone - all good choices that come together well here.

Knew I'd see a lot of things like this. Yours stands out as one of the well processed ones. Very nice.

I love the lacy wispyness to this image. It matches the text on the feminine headstone.

Yes, it's a graveyard or it has that feel, I just feel that the effect tends to take away too much of the subject matter. Another thing is the "black hole" at the top right of the image lends nothing positive to the over-all image.

Beautiful glow and tones - love the way the grass heads dance in the light and breeze.
