We'll see if this makes it through the week. I know it's a little edgy, not in content, but in meaning. This is certainly no insult to Bruce/Caitlin Jenner or anyone else who has undergone such a process. If he wants to live as a woman, that is completely his choice. However, no matter what apparel, drugs, hormones or surgeries are done to him he will not actually be a woman. He was born with xy chromosomes and will never be xx. This is a scientific reality, not an insult or a denigration to any person.
This is a political commentary on the increased awareness his case has brought about with "gender reassignment" and the implied societal demand that all people must accept the illusion as reality.
On the color wheel, blue is opposite of orange (red+yellow), so to make the commentary work, this "blue" shot had to be orange.
I did read the site rules and deliberated on this before submission, but based on rule 4.2, this does not violate any of the objective criteria of that rule. That someone could claim a subjective violation is always possible, but this is no different than comments made in the forums on this issue, religious issues, or any others.
I can only hope this is being read by the SC during the challenge or the members afterward and this image is allowed to remain.

Amazing... I expect a photo to score well, it scores poorly. I expect a photo to score poorly and it scores better than expected. 12 hours in and at a 3.5 with 5 comments. A few saying they actually LIKE the image.
What's funny (to me) is that the balls and glue bottom tops are orange. I'd originally planned this image and message. As I started to make the image though, I though "Go ahead and do it in blue!" I converted all the orange objects to blue. So I did and didn't like it all that much. So I went back to plan A and converted them all back to orange again. And now people might have actually liked the abstractness of the image itself, lol... Guess I'll post the other to the outtakes.

Okie doke... some good comments Amazing to me. 3.26 as I write this. I can live with that as scores are nothing compared to artistic expression.
Here's the blue version, done after so many liked the actual image, though not the message...

It's also not an intolerant photo as commented. To tolerate something, by definition, you must disagree with it. Acceptance is not tolerance by any stretch of the imagination. |

And then you probably heard about that white woman who identified herself as a black woman yeah well you know the list can go on and on and on and on, it's gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets better! |

Pity I didn't really pay attention to this whilst voting I skipped it. |
I know. If someone went around and "identified" as Napoleon, we would not just pretend he was Napoleon, and would most likely get him help to correct the actual problem. But for some reason in these cases, we throw off all common sense and let them indulge their fantasy (which is fine) but are forced to all play along (which is not). |

Good shoehorn and good try with the title but I think this will not fair well. I'll still give you the above average 6 score however. |

That's a hell of an image, and I've had loved to score it in blue :-( I understand the conceit you;re playing with here, and I am going to score it a 6 for that, but it's a pittu this lovely construction isn't actually in blue... |
