 A photo of the windows of one of the gatehouse buildings in Green Park, right next to Buckingham Palace. The building looked like its used just as a storeroom these days, and the limestone it's made from is slowly decaying due to the years of traffic fumes.

The original was rotated, cropped, levels & contrast adjusted, focus sharpened, and double bordered. I had no need to do any spot edits, even though they were allowed, since this shot doesn't need any.

Greetings from the Critique Club

A good Photo of Architectural detail, but it is just technically good it doesn't have that little bit extra that say Wow!
It is a little overexposed in the middle did you use a flash close up?
I feel that it might have helped the flatness if it had been black and white I can see a good tonal range possibilities in this, all that lovely decay and the straight lines.
Well tried, it probably would have done better in the square challenge where no enhancements were allowed.

Lovely colours and textures. It's a little blocky and flat in its composition... centred and square like that. But I like it.

I think I would have liked this with a less black frame.. Although I think you idea was to help pull out the window as the focal point, I think it would have worked better without the frame or with the frame just slightly lighter and less thick. Would liked window this to be more not on center, also, although it's only a minor flaw in this particular shot, imo.

Wow, all that architectural detail, and such a plain, simple little window. Sorry, though it's kind of interesting, it's not a real high impact image for me.

This is a pic that definitely has to be centered if cropped this tight. I'm glad you didn't try to use the rule of thirds. Its a decent shot though not terribly interesting. - Inspzil

This is a good shot. I do think the focus is a little soft. Wonder if that is just from the Building itself.
