 Thanks guys, if this was also a popularity poll, I should be happy with that too.

It was a last minute entry. Waitingsilence and I went to the mountains (he took his TT entry a few kilometres from here) and went back around 2am. - rollover is at 6 am. in Italy.

It was funny how most of you have been fooled by the light. This was not twilight, it was the light coming from the moon and in the background you can see light pollution coming from the distant towns. These may seem hills, but these are very high mountains :)

great image. have sat here wondering about the composition to get the star field with the "still visible sky", have decided that this is a series of time images taken with a tripod/remote shutter and stacked, masking away some of the bg/sky layers to give the fade. I don't know if I'm right, but I'm curious to find out.
