Good evening from the Critique Club!
My first impression of this image was wow! Then I sat and stared at it for a very long time. Then I sat and wondered whether it actually fit the challenge, and then I decided that it did, and thus it resulted in a high score from me :)
The Depth of field is excellent in this. I like how crisp the dead rose is. The dull light fits the mood of the shot very well. I'm impressed that you were able to pull this off. somebody said that it looked like some kind of alien, I agree :) It's got a very otherworldly feel to it.
Well done, and I hope to see more from you in the future!

| Just pointing out that the boarder is wider on the top and left. This may have been intentional on your part, but just thought I'd mention. I like this photo; the star shape is a striking image, and the red is excellent. |

| This really looks good. Don't know where you got the idea but it is fantastic. Gread DOF and nicely focused. What is this made of anyway. Can't quite figure it out. Belongs in the top. |

| The lighting came out pretty nice. The picture did come out a little blury at the bottom but the picture did come out nice. Nice Work |

| Wow. This gets more interesting the more I look at it. It looks like an alien creature resembling a mixture of a squid on a stick and a flying starfish strawberry. Nice framing and small dof. I really like this and hope it does well. |

| My idea of this challenge was to take an overdone shot and do it yourself just to see how hard it really is. This is a different take on the topic, but it's still a good idea. I like the dof. I might prefer a little more light, but the darkness does add to the somber feel. 8 |

Composition: Excellent
Technical: Fantastic DOF apart from bottom part of the subject is slightly out of focus. White border is different width top/bottom compared with left/right.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Good take on the challenge. 8 |
