I like the composition a lot, but think that you lost too much detail in the fireplace, and wish the TV screen wasn't evident in the upper left hand corner. Also, focus could be a bit better. Maybe a large plant to the side of the dogs head would have looked better than seeing tv. I do like the angle of your shot though. Good luck. |

Don't know if the name Churchill did fit when the dog was a puppy, but now it shurely does! His pose is excellent. I like the color of the image and that you used the wood-stove as background. You might have acctually moved yourself more to the left (or the doog to the right). In this way only the stove would make the background. good luck to you. |

Great shot...actually looks like he/she is contemplating how to fix the world problems...Colors a great and the contrast between fur and the fireplace complete the appeal. Well done. |

a Lovely pet portrait,I scored it high, would have been 10 if the ugly mess in the top L/H corner was missing from the shot. |

my goodness what an imperious expression! great looking dog. now what i would have done was either a) gotten in closer sso it wasnt a living room snapshot, and focused in on his face and shoulders, OR, if b) if i wanted to show his whole body, i would have put him a different bg, maybe a white sheet or a green blanket |

As beautiful as I expected: dog and photograph. He looks so regal laying here so perfectly. Beautiful rich colors and beautiful cropping job. He looks like this is a normal place to lay, or possess. He is absolutly beautiful. It's easy to take a 1st place photo when you have a 1st place subject. Not fair. Great job. |

What a handsome Golden and his name suits him. Nice shot of him too, wish he was looking at the camera though, the angle seems to call for it. |

This must be an ad for a dog food, ... the gloriously silky coat with the fabulous shine! Rating a 9 |

Nice dog, and a good poser too. I like the perspective and the mood you are trying to create. However, the busy background somewhat taints the shot. |

What a beautiful dog! You've captured the detail in the dog's coat beautifully, too. I would try to keep vertical lines straight though. Note the fireplace line which should be straight up-and-down. This leaves your viewer with the feeling that he might fall over. |

That's one hell of an expresion on his face! Looks like he's frowning & thinking 'why do I have to sit up here?'.
Focus & exposure are great, but the slight tilt on the shot is distracting for me. A very nice looking dog though, and overall a good shot.

Shame that the focus is off on the dog's head. |

now THAT''s a very dignified lookin beast friend sittin in fronta your fire! Love the pose and the location, but the composition seems a bit crooked and I dont like whatever it is in the upper left corner, esp. since its so near the dogs face. Beautiful dog. Nice job. |

lovey photo of Churchill. The lighting is really nice, but plays mostly on his hind quarters and not much on his upper body, which makes his look a bit out of focus. Not sure what the lighting is at Churchill's head, but that and the wood in the fireplace is a mite distracting, leading the looker away from Churchill. Anyway you could have changed your angle of the camera to do away with those those distractions? |
