 A friend walking past an art installation at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) in Houston, Texas, USA.

This month I am going with something completely outside my typical wildlife photographs. The last time I did this in a free study I was rewarded with a yellow ribbon....lets see if lightning does strike twice

Thank you everyone for votes and comments. I am so happy this did well in a free study, was really not expecting this high of a finish....especially when it dropped down to 6.2 for awhile.

We were at the museum so I could shoot a photo for the color abstract challenge when I saw this. Sat there for a good 30 minutes but nobody walked by the art installation. So my friend walked pasted a few times for me while I clicked away. Had lots of great shots but liked this one with almost dead center the best. Did a bunch of slow shutter shots that day at the museum, was on a slow shutter kick that day for some reason.

Striking image, this has a very strong graphic nature, like the color contrast of the red with the darkness of the figure. The long exposure looks really nice, gives the image a motion that it would otherwise lack. The seam on the floor provides a nice leading line into the picture.

An appealing image that contributes well to the free study challenge

Congratulations on your lightning second strike!

It's to our huge benefit that you were on a slow motion kick, I particularly like your shot and this style of shooting, you have achieved a great end result. The symmetry works very well but its all in those glorious reflections they really add the finishing touch to a great concept and execution. There are other alternatives that are going through my mind and I suspect you have all of those amongst your rejects but I think its such a strong subject and potential that any of those would have worked well too. You obviously chose the right one and were well rewarded for it. Well done and thanks for an excellent creation.
