Greetings from the Critique Club!
Good strong image, love the way the boat is listing into the scene....then we scroll down and see it is in dry dock, so it makes it more effective. In terms of subject matter it's a good choice, it certainly looks like it went through the wars! I think making its condition a little more obvious in the title, that it is in a severe state of disrepair, would have helped somewhat for those not knowledgeable about boats.
So the composition is good and effective, but the ambient light is killing this nice capture. There is a flatness to the scene and just a lot of washiness overall with the grey sky, grey water and large amount of grey and neutrals in the boat - I'm starting to think this may have been much stronger in b/w. I am also wondering why so much dof - did you want the houses in the bg to be in focus too? Letting them be a little out of focus would have helped add a sense of depth to the scene.
Hope this helps, feel free to PM me with any questions

A terrific wreck of a boat in a complimentary marine setting. |
