Challenge: Macro Without Bugs or Flowers (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-D60
Location: Williston, Vermont
Date: Nov 6, 2004
Aperture: f 22
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/5"
Date Uploaded: Nov 6, 2004

This image was made with a friend's Canon 1Ds, at quality level small/fine. The necklace was arranged around its one pearl, on black velvet. A Canon closeup lens was attached to the 28/135 zoom. Post-processing was cropp, speck removal, unsharp mask, resize. An experiment, from which I learned what I had already been told, that doubling megapixels may or may not yield an increase in quality.

You really should make this bigger to get a better score. Use as much of the allowable size as possible to give your picture the best chance. I like your use of black bacground with the pearl/silver, but the pic is just too small.

Looks like an unimaginative shot for a jelery store.

Neat idea and setup, but image could be much larger.

If you use the full 640 pixel limit we'd be able to see much more detail in this shot and vote it higher. Its too small now.

Too small - you're going to hear this a lot.
