A nice idea,s elective de-sat? The leaves have also lost their colour and therefore their punch which leaves the whole thing looking a bit flat. A change of veiwpoint would improve the shot, in my opinion. Tighter in to loose the footpath, lower down to emphasize the train and slightly left to loose some of the distrcting background. When composing a shot like this where you have plenty of time, use it and have a good look around the veiwfinder and make sure only the things you want in the shot can be seen. Well done though, a six from me. |

I might have tried cropping it down to just the engine, and then tried lighting it up a bit. |

Too dark for me. I don't know if a longer exposure would have helped, or if metering in a darker area would have helped for in-camera.. possibly both.
The train just fades into the background too much, taking away the focal point. Also, there just seems to be too much space around it as well, to my view. |

I love the leaves all gathered around the train - terrific find. The red tones seem to have grabbed some areas too strongly or in splotches that I personally find distracting and really hurting the photgraph. Just an opinion. |

The desat here works well. A wish the leaves were a brighter red though. I'm sure you tried adjusting the levels. Nice composition. |

Actually, i think it's great! How did you manage to separate the leaves from the other colors, like the background? |

This train has about as much novemeber as it's gonna take eh? :) This is very well done. Difficult to say, but I think I'd like the frame set a little higher - maybe to set the vertical center of the front of the train (including chimney) just below frame center? But hey - excellent use of colour filtering makes up for that ten fold. 9. |
