This is a wonderful photograph, not only because your dog looks my late Brandy (predigital), but also because the tail and tennis ball fluff ties them (almost literally) together Hope dog and you are well. (Came across quite by chance).

Critique Club Critique

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) This is an adorable photograph. I know how difficult it can be to photograph pets, especially one with lots of energy. You have done well to wait until the dog was sleeping, and also including the ball for content. It looks as if he/she has worn themself out playing.

(2) BACKGROUND You have filled the frame nicely with just the subject, therefore, there is no distracting background.

(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL The DOF is very good, all of the important parts are in sharp focus. I love the details visible in the dogs tail and also the eyes are very sharp. Your composition is excellent and the ball adds just the right touch.

(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL Your post processing is good. Saturation is good. Your cropping may be a bit tight. I feel that something is missing where the dogs other ear should be.

(5)MEETING THE CHALLENGE This does an excellent job of meeting the challenge, not only in the subject, but aslo in the title.

(6) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO The subject here is wonderful. The way you executed it is great. This is a photograph that you should be proud of. After all, aren't pets part of the family? Good luck on future challenges.

This is a great shot. The ball makes it complete. I was waiting for him to open his eyes and go "ready to play again?" 10

Composition: I really like the way the frame is filled.
Technical: Focus is slightly off on the subject's forehead but looks great elsewhere. Lighting looks a little dark, but this does draw your eye nicely into the centre of the pic. Excellent use of borders too.
Overall impression: Really nice pic. 8

I love it. Looks like he is taking a nap after having torn the ball to bits and pieces. Good job. good luck. Jacko. 9

I'd have liked this a little lighter. I like the addition of the ball in the shot.

Very cute - I wish his face was a little sharper focus - nice job

Eeew - I don't like the tennis ball, but the dog's a real cutie - and I like the composition, especially the tail curling around in front ... except for the tennis ball.

Cute puppy! That nose reminds me of my greyhound. Nice composition though I'd rather see all of his nose and no tail. I think I'd also like a little more focus since the dog is really the subject and his focus is softer than that of the ball. 7

I adore the nice tight crop, and that his/her toy is in the shot. Very nice composition, and pretty good lighting.

Nicely focused photo. Wish you had zoomed back and gotten the whole dog. As is it is nicely done. I just personally like to see the whole animal.

My top dog this week! I love the compostion. It stood out from the rest in that the entire frame is filled with the dog colors and doesn't have a distracting ill composed background or what I consider a ridiculously perfect set up with a sheet and lighting that usually renders an unnatural image of mans best friend. The dog, of course, is very cure, and the tennis ball is excellent in the foreground. I love how the wisps on the end of the tail seem to almost blend into the shredded part of the ball. I would print this and frame it (if it was my dog) Excellent job. 9
