 Lit with SB910 with Westcott Rapid 24" Octabox placed behind subject, white diffusion panel on octabox, pens arranged on reflective black plexiglass panel, shot down on them, magnifying glass directly in front of lens to increase magnification, prism to camera left to cast interesting reflective shadows.

An appealing image that fulfils the challenge brief

A great abstract John, most appealing. Everything is good about the single obvious pen against the background jumble of pens makes it stand out together with your title it leaves room for an obvious yet subtly mixed interpretation. I like the mono tones and lighting it creates an appealing mood with an air of mystery about it. I like your creative approach.

The day paper became necessary, but humans were expendable. The pens learned to write themselves.
