Ok, so how fortuitous could I be with the Melethia challenge announced just before we left for LA!!! And we had planned to meet up!!! We had talked about visiting one of the beaches and found our way here at Deb's suggestion (a short walk along the beach from the Santa Monica expo line station). As we were walking along Venice Beach, Deb said there's the skate park! Well voila! Those skaters are so fun to watch.. what a place. And shortly afterwards the fog crept in so no sunsets. But I had this!! Is this cheating? Ha! I hope not. But I do feel lucky.

Post challenge. Thanks to all for the votes and comments... I'm glad to see that Deb is so well represented by the images on the front page! What a wonderful example she is to follow.

this is a stunning composition: it stuns me each time I open dpc. it benefits, in my opinion, from being looked at from afar.

This makes me think of a Deb photo. She is a master at capturing light and silhouettes. I love how the one bird is kind of framed by the skater's arm.

Timing is everything. His arms, the birds wings.... just doesn't get any better! And you did get the shadow, too. Wonderfully busy is a good way. Great capture. Aren't you glad I took you there?
