Perhaps more contrast in color and lighting? Position is good, but the image falls flat.

The focus seems a bit soft, try applying USM in post processing or not trying to focus so close.

Nice estreme close up. focus seems a bit soft throughout though. could just be the texture of the ring, but it does seem a bit soft. LIghting seems to be ok, maybe a bit dull. There is a tutorial on how a silver watch was photographed. I think that the advice in that tutorial might come in handy here as well. I like the placement of the subject within the frame, nice angle.
