Can you get rid of that building with all the plywood?

Seems more head-on than ground-up.

There doesn't seem to be anything technically wrong with this photo, but the composition just seems dull to me.

The subject of this image just does not do a lot for me.

hmm..I want to focus on the horizon, giving me an eye level perspective rather than a grounds up perspective. Would be better had there been something interesting in the upper left corner.

I think this might have been a better photo as a more traditional shot (as opposed to shooting for this specific challenge) -- I like the roof as a framing element, but much of the elements at the bottom feel like they've been _just_ cropped out (whether or not they actually have)

I like the city scape but I don't think the station roof, as the subject of the ground up part of the picture isn't as exciting as the sky line

Even though the angle of the photograph is up, it doesn't convey to me the impression that the camera was on or close to the ground. I know from some of my photos that it can be on the ground, and not look like it, but I think the final impression conveyed is what counts. Otherwise nice picture.

There are so many cloud-less skies in this challenge, I'm jealous :-)

I'm afraid I don't see the "ground up" aspect of this shot. It looks like a standard cityscape to me.
It is a good shot none-the-less.

take the darn power lines out of the shot and you have yourself a great photo

Where is the light-rail ?
04/29/2002 11:24:00 AM
I like the juxtaposition of the power lines and roof in the foreground with the skyline. I do feel some additional cropping would have helped emphasise it.

This doesn't seem like it is from the ground. more like 6 feet up.

This is an interesting photograph but I'm having trouble relating it to the challenge. it looks like the buildings in the distance are the subject of the photograph. If that's the case, I understand the challenge attempt. If the overhead canopy is the subject of the photo, I am missing out on this altogether. if the light posts are the subject, I would have been sure to not clip them off at the bottom of the photograph. I am a firm believer that all good photographs should have a definite subject. You don't want to leave your viewer wondering what he/she/it is supposed to be focusing on. Keep up the good work!

don't really get the point of this - what's the subject ? Good framing using the station though.
04/29/2002 07:35:00 AM
nice use of leading lines.

not the most picturesque outlook. The lamp posts detract from the cityscape.
