A super-size me, a PT Cruiser, a road, and a forest.
Even though I am not exceptionally tall for a woman - 5'10 (178 cm for most of the world) - I am still somewhat amazed at the way people often literally do not see me! This has only gotten worse with the proliferation of phones and other devices. People simply don't look up.
In fact, recently when I climbed a pine tree in my front yard, which butts right onto an intersection, in order to harvest wild grapes - yes you read that right - the number of people who drove or walked by and were completely oblivious to my presence some 20-30 feet up was pretty staggering. Nobody knew I was there. I could have slung rocks down at them and got away with it!

Damn damn holy foleytruck...I cannot believe I wasn't careful enough to get rid of that white haloing on the outside edge of my arm...no wonder my score is sucking balls. Grrrrr. |

An appealing image that contributes well to the challenge
Great idea Susan. I can sense your frustration, it can take us completely by surprise how fundamental issues can be overlooked like that. Anyhow, apart from that you still got a good top ten placing which speaks volumes for the strength of the concept and the image itself so well done.
You̢۪ve hit on a pet hate of mine of how absorbed people are with their mobile devices they are completely oblivious to everything else around them including people! And as for not looking up I̢۪m not at all surprised how you remained hidden from view, you know where to go if you want some seclusion! |
