Nice job hitting top 10! You rock. :) On the technical side, I think sepia might have been a better coloring choice for the subject. But that's just me. :)

The sheriff dude looks so smug.. which, I imagine, they did back when. A bit of a hot-spot on the chin, but a wonderful portrait, nicely composed. Good DOF, great focus.. He must have been a hero to the families under his protection (well, not *this* guy so much as those before him in the day) for sure.

Quite a striking shot - good capture of facial expression and use of lighting so their is no obvious shadow from the brim of the hat.
