There's a long story behind this cat. Essentially, he was born this past spring on the farm across the road from me. By last fall he was this big healthy tom, but was scrounging food out of my compost bin, so I began to leave out food for him. At the same time, unknown to me, a new neighbour was also feeding him.
I put up a post on FB in the lost pets section and continued to feed him, as I thought he might be a local pet just playing at being a feral :-) The last time I saw him in the wild, was on my birthday in late November...then I saw his food was going uneaten, or eaten by bluejays. I resigned myself to the fact that Bond, as I had named him, was gone.
But then an admin from the FB page contacted me and that's when I learned that he not only had a home, but it was with the new neighbour! I was shocked to see pics of this hefty former feral - he weighs around 12bs - being cuddled by a lovely young lady who has since become a friend and guine pig for my yoga teachings :-) |
