Thanks for the great comments. I just want to clarify so that people will understand what was really going on in this photo verses what it looks like. This is my daughter and although it appears she is more interested in her phone than the amazing view, she actually had just gotten done taking some photos of the canyon and was seeing if she had gotten what she wanted. She is an up and coming photographer and it has been fun to share photography adventures with her. I just happened to catch her in the act. But as I watched her looking at the photos on her phone it did strike me at how often I was seeing this same scene happen around me. People are more interested in getting that great selfie with the scenery behind them than they were actually enjoying the scenes around them. I thought being an american it was an american thing, but I was amazed at how universal this seemed to be across all the nationalities, I saw there.

I was near this point on my trip with my son last June. I can relate to your experience as my son is quite a good photographer. The clarity of your picture is amazing. My entry in this challenge was taken in the plane on the way to the Grand Canyon last year! Congratulations on a real keeper!
