I totally and completely disagree with some of the comments that this looks too photoshopped. This was one of my top picks for the challenge and I'm a bit disappointed to see it placed so low! It's a nice subtle effect without being obvious as some of the other entries are. Dont feel too bad about where you placed, because this is awesome!

A nice image

I think you had a very good photograph to work with. I am not fond of the posterized effect, however. I would have rated this higher if you had approached this from a different angle.

Looks photoshopped to me. The eyes are also looking for something right there in the front, but it's not there, so i get the feeling of incompleteness.

returning for comments:
A nice effect because it chooses low key colors to create the mood. A very good composition. bumping up.

A nice photo, gotta love foggy tree shots, though I would likely have cropped out the partial tree on the right. What really kills it is the black speckles all over the faded trees. Not working for me at all I'm afraid.

Something in the edge artifacts reminded me more of layers of construction paper rather than paint.

Very interesting filter. I will be interested to see how you accomplished this very eery effect. Good job.

Excellent

I like the trees and fog, but not the close FG

very nice. I like the fact that you didn't delineate the foreground.(7)

Non-voting on this challenge but I really like this one.

Nice shot. Good use of fog (or PS). 8

This is a pretty shot, but just "looks" to post edited. I prefer a picture that gets the effect with camera skill, not computer skill. Just my preference.

don't like this. the original image might be interesting, but the treatment here does nothing for me.

Looks like this was once a respectable photo. Far too filtered now for my taste. 1

interesting photo, more watercolor-ish than impressionistic, but a pleasing effect just the same

I like this! It's got a group of seven feel to it! I'd really like to know how you achieved this effect! 9
