Very interesting take on the challenge. Fits very well. Only thing I would have done differently is show the base of the candle also. It's questionable as it is if the candles are just staggered or if they really have melted down at different lengths of time.

Slight improvement would be to see the drip buildup on the smaller candles. Nice shot though.

First let me say good photograph. Great lighting and focus. And in this picture I think your border works well. Now what I see that could improve on the challenge theme. All candles seem to be set up in a row perpendicular to the camera lens. So it looks as if you cut the candles to different sizes to create the melting away of the candle over time. I think it would have been better to let this happen naturally by having the candles the same size and light each candle about 3 minutes apart to achieve the same effect but we could of seen the wax running down the candles. More on the small candles that has been burning longer and progress to little wax melt on the last candle lit. Good job but I think this could have been a great shot.

Cool idea. But the candles at the lower end don't show any signs of melting wax, which tells me they were all lit at the same time. I don't know, I'm not the fluent in the handling or lighting of candles myself. But the other candle pics I've seen were melted all over the sides.

The flames tilting slightly to the left, adds strength to this composition. ΓΆ€“ I like it

This looks a lot like "Into the Darkness". I think you have a very creative entry. My only suggestion would have been to show progressively more wax dripping down the candles.
