Really like what you did with post process, especially the eyes and Gaussian. Thanks for sharing pp steps. Great portrait. |

The lighting and exposure really highlights and frames the face. |

I love her intense expression. She looks like she is deciding whether or not to pounce. |

Lovely focus on the face and paw - so much character and particularity. The fade to white on the periphery is nicely done. |

Looks like the March SC is off to a stong start for you! Put me in the fan cat-agory, too. I like what you've done! |

Beautiful photo. Blurring the background makes a big difference. |

So lovely, Roz! Love the focus on the eyes... right where it should be. |

I think the DOF is purr-fect (the sharp eyes and face, and the blurred hind end). And I really like the Gaussian blur on the background, removing the distracting lines of the blinds. Beautiful focus and clear bright eyes. |

Such a wonderful capture! Hope Katee is doing well, since Molly looks somewhat hungry :) I prefer the edited photo |

The soft detail in the cat comes across beautifully, the neutral colors are very appealing. I might steal this for my Pinterest page. (just kidding) |

I am in two minds after looking at the original. Somehow I prefer its softness, save for the background. And yes, the cat is too sweet to be overtaken visually by the basket. |

I like the powerful light and the pose but yes the basket is a bit distracting, she̢۪s a real cutie. |

Thanks for the notes, Roz. As you edit in Photoshop (CC?) it will be very useful for me. Gaussian blur is something I heard a lot about but I am yet to use it. Great way of getting rid off unwanted lines in the background.
Nice photo, you can see the attention in cat's eyes. |

That is just beautiful, Roz. I'm glad it was Katee she had her eye on and not some hapless little creature.
I love the high key and the softness from the gaussian blur. And that intent gaze!

After reading your EXIF data I have a different opinion of your shot. I noticed you used a flash. At first glance I thought this was caught on a sunny afternoon. I'm wondering if you have considered posting the original photograph along with the edited image. This would help us understand why you made the choices you did.
This is a nice portrait of Molly, full of delicate details, but the basket is drawing too much attention. |
