 Tree swallow pausing on barbed wire, looking perhaps wary, perhaps weary, or perhaps just not eager to have portrait made. Bit of nesting material in beak somewhat unusual for a bird sitting down instead of flying to the nest. Puffed out feathers made the normally sleek bird look rather like a ball, inspiring the title.

Mate was sitting on same wire about ten feet to camera right with shiny dark blue iridescent feathers on his back but with a less interesting expression.

when this opened it gave me the biggest smile EVER .!..
and that was before i saw your title ..
LOVE THIS SO MUCH .. so cute .. so endearing .. so absolutely perfect ..
i've seen two images that i feel could ribbon .. this is another one ..
