 i took katee to the leash free beach and i was thinking of the landscape challenge ..
i love getting photos of the sun as a star and was taking photos of a pile of rocks that someone had piled up with the sun as a star behind them .. but wasn't overly impressed ..

then we started walking along the beach .. i glanced back and a pelican was on the rocks .. so i went back to see if i could get some pics of him ..
katee was not on a lead and cant hear me call her .. i got off a couple of shots but katee spooked the pelican and it flew off .. she does that quite a bit with insects .. ;)

so we went for our walk ..
on the way back we came back to the same area where the pelican had been before .. and imagine my happiness that there was a pelican there again ..
i put katee on the lead and got closer and closer to the pelican .. taking photos all the time with katee yanking on the lead ..
then it took off .. i got pics of it flying but he didnt line up with the sun .. i chose this one to enter in the challenge as I liked the balance ..
hoping it does well .. :)
thats in the lap of the voters . !! .. ;)

after rollover .. 5th WOW .!!. bit of a surprise considering the beauty and impact of landscapes i've seen here in dpc ..

I'm only viewing this on my phone at the moment, and I haven't been commenting or voting lately, but I have a good excuse. Anyway this is so spectacular, the centred composition, the sun flare, and the heavy contrast, wow this is amazing Roz. I'm glad it did well.
