You got quite a bit of feedback during the challenge so I'll make this short. This shot fits the challenge, but didn't stand out as a strong image. I'm not sure what is behind the bowl on the right but it is distracting. Focus is too soft on the bananas, and the lighting is too harsh. I do like the black background. Did you try putting some white cloth or paper in front of the light to diffuse it some? See how the brightest areas are "hot" and almost look white? You need to adjust the lighting and/or exposure to avoid that. I'd also like to see more of the bananas. Maybe just shooting them against all black would be nicer. The table top is just distracting anyway.
Good luck and keep shooting! |

I like the lighting of this photo. |

I really enjoy the cool, mysterious shadow that cuts the banana in half. It adds interest to the photo in a subtle way. |

I feel that the lighting is a bit too contrasty, so that the highlights on the bannanas are lacking in detail. However it is good composition. |

thisa is a great still life ..reminds me of the Flemish masters. The only negative is the orange object on the right side of the dish. the light and dark very effective. |

Pretty good shot, lighting is a bit too harsh on the right and a bit too shadowed in the middle. A softener (sheet or even a paper towel) over the bulb would cut down on the glare and a reflector on the left would fill in some of the shadows. |

A little too much glare on the right side. |

Nice lighting and different composition. I think I would prefer more lighting at the top though. |

Too many over-exposure on the banana skin on the right. |

This foto has a nice soft feel to it. I really like the composition. However, I find the lighting a little disturbing. I think the foto would have had a more profound effect had it been just a little brighter. I'm no expert, but I think there is too much contrast between the very bright area on the right and the very dark area on the left. The thingy just to the right of the bowl is also a little distracting. |

Nice still life, but I find there are too many shadows on the bananas and the glare on the right side is too much. Focus could stand to be a little sharper. |

Difusing the lighting on the right side would have helped with the blown out highlights on the bananna skin. |

I really liked this one... maybe a tad overexposed on the right side though. |

I'm not too keen on the lighting. The bananas on the right are overexposed and that black shadow in the middle is rather distracting. |

The background is too dark to draw the bananas out. The detail on left bottom distracts them too. |

I think the lighting on the right edge is too harsh - it's flared right out. As a result, yellow doesn't seem to be the dominant colour - I think blue takes over (since I tend to ignore black and white). Other than that the image is ok. |
