A bucket list item! Something I've always wanted to see and experience. I went up to Maine a couple of years ago, but only saw two. From a boat. Far away.

This was beyond my dreams!! What an incredible adventure!! and huge HUGE thanks to SaraR for hosting me and going with me.

It may be a bucket list item -- but I can't cross it off my list. I would do it again in an instant!!

Here are some outtakes:

And if you want to see more, I started a blog. I got to day 3 out of 42 days. :)

Thanks for all the comments!

oh -- and I thought the same thing!! His beak is stitched on to his face!

As to the title:
Lyrics
Fish heads, fish heads
Roly-poly fish heads
Fish heads, fish heads
Eat them up, yum
Fish heads, fish heads
Roly-poly fish heads
Fish heads, fish heads
Eat them up, yum
In the morning, laughing, happy fish heads
In the evening, floating in the soup
Ask a fish head anything you want to
They won't answer, they can't talk
I took a fish head out to see a movie
Didn't have to pay to get it in
They can't play baseball, they don't wear sweaters
They're not good dancers, they don't play drums
Roly-poly fish heads are never seen drinking cappuccino
In Italian restaurants with Oriental women
Yeah
Ask a fish head anything you want to
They won't answer, they can't talk
Ask a fish head anything you want to
They won't answer, they can't talk

Wendy! Wow! YOU outdid yourself here! And that is saying SO MUCH, because it̢۪s not like you don̢۪t have a massive body of spectacular to compete with! Sheeesh! National Geographic has nothing on you with puffins!! Congratulations on so many levels!

Congratulations on the blue! The bleed into the eyes of the sandeels is something I haven't seen before and really rather interesting. I wonder if this puffin had a tighter grip than most? Often some are still alive at this point - you can see tails flicking a bit - but definitely not here!

I just realised the beak looks like it̢۪s stitched to the face. And those eyes, great detail. What a greedy guts he is ha ha.

Should do well.

Edited for typos.

Beautiful bird, with quite the mouthful of fishes. Kind of want a catchlight in the Puffin's eye, or maybe just some more detail there.
