 Ok there is so much wrong with this image, WB, lighting, crop (shot this thinking we could now crop in minimal :/) but I was determined to enter something as I was all for this challenge, and in my typical fashion left it till last minute - so this is it. I had a small torch off to the right shining onto some Al foil trying to get some light reflecting onto face, thats the corner of it you can see bottom right (sigh..)

Well this is doing so much better than what I thought. First few votes saw it sitting at 5.33 (where I placed it) but woke up the next morning to high 6's and it's hung around there since.

pgirish007Yes it was my intention to leave the statue - it just felt right to me. In all I took 80 shot's using 10 sec timer, it was a very experimental process. However your comment left me curious so I did another edit just to see this was my intended crop had I been able.

WOW .. Janine .. you are beautiful .. !! ..
and congratulations on the red for this wonderful self portrait ..
i rather like the white balance .. altho i must say my monitor needs a calibration .. like two years ago .. !! ..
and i didnt mind the statue .. gave this an almost 'spiritual' theme .. to me anyway .. however seeing the one without the statue .. that 'distraction' is gone .. :)

Iâm so glad this won a ribbon! Iâm not a fan of minimal editing because I can see the âWOWâ that this photo would become with such a few minor tweaks... but for minimal editing, it IS a wow photo! Congratulations!!
