 I went to a Native American festival where young and old were dressed in native clothing. It was interesting to see everyone going back to their heritage.
Disqualification Details
Susan, you have GOT to read the rules. If they aren't clear to you set up a chat with me and I walk you through them. The rules allow you to clone out elements but they have to be replaced with whatever would have been there if the object were not. So you can remove a bush on a hillside but it has to be replaced with the surrounding grass, whatever. Thus kind of wholesale removal of a distracting portion and replacing it with another image is reserved for Extended editing.

I had a feeling that it would be disqualified, but I always like to give the person the benefit of the doubt. I̢۪m sure you̢۪ll be on the front page again very soon :-)

Interesting. If the background is a "texture" then wouldn't it be applied to the entire image? I'm still unclear on how the whole texture stuff (rules) apply.


Alas the minute I saw this I asked myself the same question about legality and only bring it up hear since it's already been asked. The removal of unwanted objects bullet in the Standard Rules tells me that this is likely not kosher. But I'll say this, it's a brilliant job on the replacement.


Well technically nothing was removed...Texture is applied over the image But thanks for your feedback!

Who knows - time will tell but the texture is applied over the background - you don't have to apply texture to the entire image and it doesn't have to be applied at 100% either. The background is underneath the texture -I appreciate your comments though. I'm new to the community but enjoying it. Thanks for the feedback.

Actually that is the discoloration of the feather. The background is a texture - but I guess it will be up to the rules people. I like the shot and thanks for your comments.

I really like this. Love the lighting and the topic choice. I am not sure about the painting texture to cover the background (rules wise). It also got a little too blended into his headdress.
