Thanks for all the votes and kind comments! I'm really happy this did well since I don't really do too many of these product-type shots.

It was a pretty easy setup...

The cup is a small espresso cup on a silver saucer that came with it. The cup is on a sheet of 1/4" glass that's painted black underneath, it's one of the shelves from an old school stereo component rack. The background is a cardboard box that's a matte black and I have the single flash about 8" above it, set a bit behind the cup pointing down angled slightly towards the cup. The light you see behind the cup is the flash bouncing off the glass onto the background. I think I have a picture on my phone of the setup, I'll upload it if I do.

I also tried to see if I could get a better shot the following weekend with the same setup but couldn't get anything better. I even tried using all kahlua and a mixture of coffee and kahlua so the coffee would be darker but no luck. Getting to drink each cup after each attempt was a plus though :)

Thanks again for taking the time to vote and comment and I hope everyone is staying safe.

Adding...
Here's the setup shot. I didn't want to post it before the "What's on your walls" challenge ended because my living could've been recognized from this. As you can see, it's a simple setup for someone that isn't very good at setups. I'm just glad the shot turned out the way that it did. I should add that when I took the shot the blackout curtains were close so I could get even, consistent lighting on the cup and not having reflections from the window on it.

By the way I think would be excellent at stock photography and, if you’re bored maybe you can set up a few more and send them to some stock company.

We photographers all have a need to create, even stuck indoors. The lack of any horizon lines really brings out the main subject. Can't really do a long exposure with this one!

Much virtuosity but the crop of the reflection is a bit unfortunate

That is the setup I envisioned when I first saw the challenge theme - but I'm not able to produce something as perfect as this.
Simply wow. I can see that right at the top

LOVE that drop and stream of cream!

And the DOF.

And the BW with a spot of color.

And... well... everything, actually.
