The focus is really good on this. The choice of red as a background also works to give the photo some pop. As to why the photo scored so low, can't help you there. I would have probably given this about a 6, mostly because I am not necessarily seeing why 7 pairs of hands can be considered lucky. If it is your family, then you are lucky to have seven members. However, I am not sure most would know that. I think this was mostly a failure because the voters could not see a real connection between the challenge and the photo. But that is only my opinion. Believe me I have a slew of stinkers myself. Look at my earliest entries and you will know how I struggled as well.

I don't think I understand this pic, but there ARE 7 hand in the pic, so it does fit the challenge. can't say that it is visually appealing to me on a personal level, but maybe i'm just not familiar with this odd behavior. lol. I lke how you got 7 people to do this, not 4 people with both their hands. Makes me smile to think that you all got together to make this photo. Looks like a fun cute photo. ~Heather~

sorry this image just lacks imagination and appears to be a last minute idea just to get into the competition. A black cloth may have helped draw out the red nails.

i guess i'm a square - i don't get it. but the red seems waaaay too RED. kinda makes the red fingernail disappear - unless that was the idea.

Lighting is pretty harsh. Good focus/sharpness though.
