I spent about 2hrs in 107 temperature shooting Bees that afternoon. I had a Rotolight Aeos to light the scene, just over my left shoulder. I must have shot around 800 images. I had several decent shots of Bees in flight, but this was the only sharp one with great placement of the flying Bee.

WOW .. congratulations on 2nd place for such a great shot .
and i totally get it about the 800 shots .. but you have so much more patience than me .. in that sort of heat i'd be out of there after about 5 minutes .. a well deserved ribbon .. :)

This is a phenomenal nature image! Bees are hard enough to capture on a flower let alone in a row and one in flight! Very impressive, Congrats!

Fantastic capture - congrats! I have attempted to capture flying insects many times with no success so I know how difficult a capture this is. And with reflections too.
