 Maybe this is not a classical meal shot... I certainly do have several photos of nice dishes since I like food photography: no model contracts needed, no excursions in the cold before sunrise, no hours of waiting in the bushes for a wild animal to show up.

But this one I remember fondly, just as the description says.
This was at an alpine hut gathering with family and friends - enjoying hiking in the nature, preparing and having meals together, simply having a good time. When we had a meal outdoors and were almost finished (as you can see from the empty plates), this cow came close, she was just curious.
Finally she decided to have rather some fresh grass than a caprese salad ;-)

Explanation for Neat and all others who are interested:
This is a very young animal, somewhere between a calf and a mature cow.
This is a clip-on ring used to encourage the weaning of calves by discouraging them from suckling. The suction stopper is used even more frequently to prevent the animals in a group from suckling other heifers (which is the case here I think)
There is a cowshed nearby but the cows can roam freely in a very large area - including the space where the alpine hut is loctaed. Happy cows they are!

This was my favorite of the challenge Barbara. My interpretation of the challenge was not to take just a picture of food but to express why a meal is memorable. You hit the nail on the head in my opinion. Love the shot.

Looks like a lot of nice healthy food in that mix, and what is that sharp instrument in that cow̢۪s nose looks quite dangerous to me! I would love to know the story behind this :-) already voted.

Ha! Ha!

We had our Thanksgiving on our front porch on the Saturday after Thanksgiving... socially distancing and outside to curb the 'Rona.

Our mail lady came by... she's always fun.

Then the UPS guy...

It certainly wasn't a cow, though!
That's much more fun!

(Although neither Mary, the Mail Lady nor the UPS guy pooped on our lawn.) :D
