 I tried to photograph the sponge using the rule of thirds to make it look like some kind of abstract landscape.

Heh I nearly submitted a sponge shot! Would have preferred a black background to contrast with the sponge but otherwise this is very good. Well done.

Nice idea, the sponge. But it's fighting the background for the yellow spot. Need to change the color of the background. The sponge is in good focus, nicely cropped, well done. Next time don't make it fight for the attention.

Funny...I was also thinking of doing a sponge...I think maybe a little more exposure would have helped you here...
