 when I considered entering this challenge I thought of all the books I have .. stacked on tables .. in the bookshelf .. beside the bed (on both sides) .. in drawers .. etc etc .. I have a LOT of books .. in the distant past I read a heap of science fiction .. these days its more about spirituality and associated stuff .. but photographing a stack of books for the challenge didn’t seem interesting enough .. not the way I’d photograph them anyway ..

I just happened to see the book 101 dog tricks which was sitting on the table stacked with some other books .. thought I’d show you the books that were stacked on that day with toddy nicely posing in the background .. maybe someone might be interested in a book or two .. my life has changed so much for the better from reading those and related books .. and putting the different philosophies into action .. I read most books on my phone now tho .. would recommend very highly ‘the four agreements by don miguel ruiz .. a life changer ..


anyway .. i hadn’t really looked much into the 101 dog trick book because they seemed way above mine and toddy’s pay grade .. but I thought it would be good to get him to pose near it ..
I wanted Toddy to lie down and put his head down on his paws .. I had taught him to lie down but not to put his head on his paws .. that wasn’t in the book … so I googled it .. found a great utube video .. and toddy picked it up in about 20 minutes .. took a heap of photos of him with the book .. but the one I entered was the only one that I felt worked .. in some he looked really bored .. in some he was looking the wrong way .. in some he had his eye’s closed or nearly closed .. in some he just wasn’t positioned right in relation to the book ..

Ahhh congrats Roz - love the dog tricks (I have the same book :-)). I just sent off Flumi's Grand Champion application. You should really play with Todd on the tricks. So many are useful for photoshoots :-)

I LOVE this photo! The book is the perfect prop. Toddy is gorgeous - those eyes are gorgeous, so clear and bright. The pose is wonderful. I'll have to chase up that training tip, although it might not work for a viszla, ha ha.
