 this dropped a heap in the last 12 hours .. from 6.9 to 6.7 .. i thought i'd be lucky to get in the top five .
when i opened dpc after this rolled over i almost missed it .. not expecting the red ..
i do feel that it would have looked a lot better with the yellow ribbon as it would have matched .. !! ..

thankyou all for your great comments during voting and of course votes ..
very very grateful for this ..

i hope that little grasshopper is still basking somewhere .. they can live for 7 weeks .. :)

thanks Gaby .. and yes it can be disheartening to enter challenges and they bomb out .. you most definitely didnt this day .. !! .. your Bee Eater is stunning and such beautiful colours ..

not out of the camera .. !! .. but that is quite a compliment .. as these days i like to create something that is different from the reality but maintains a real feel .. if you get the idea ..
but i've just uploaded the seven photos i used in this image plus my editing steps to the sc .. the grasshopper focus stacked to get all of him in focus .. uncropped .. then added several photos that i'd taken of bokeh .. and then the spider's web .. :)

Beautiful Roz, Congratulations. I have not been on DPC for a while (I always get fed up when I enter challenges and one after the other just bomb :-)). I think the red matches perfectly - it goes with the subject :-). Love the BG, was that more or less how it came out of camera?
