 went to the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium yesterday with my daughter and grandson ..
my daughter is 8 months pregnant and my grandson Leo is two and a half .. so photography is the last thing on the agenda .. i'm pushing the pram, carrying Leo and helping Ali ..
but i was able to get a few photos ..

going thru the photos this morning after i had looked at what challenges were going .. i thought .. "hello .. transparency .. !! .. "

this is a perfect example of wanting a shot but getting another one that is so much better ..

the man .. who i dont know .. was standing taking photos of the pengiuns with his phone .. i took a couple of shots waiting for him to move away ..
at the time i didnt realize that because of the reflection thru the glass it looks like the penguin is wearing spectacles .. what were the chances .. !! ..
cant use flash .. and pics extremely grainy/noisy .. hence the added texture etc ..

no matter how this goes in the challenge i reckon it was pretty cool getting this totally unplanned candid shot .. :)

mariuca .. the man had stopped taking photos on his phone for a second when i took this shot and was holding it close to his chest .. :)

thankyou everyone for your excellent votes and comments .. this would have to be my favourite photo in a long time .. just how random it was .. turned out almost despite me .. !! .. ;)

This is great Roz! The best photos are those that happen serendipitously :). Actually, even without glasses on the pinguin it was a very good shot, love the composition and the light, and the BW processing. But of course glasses are the icing on the cake. Congrats on your win!

Ha ha. Yes they do to be as likeable as the man watching them (what happened to his hand? The only nit picking I have)

Clever, funny, artful and beautifully pulled off. Black and white old-fashioned feel, and I even like the tattered framing. Can't see the entire enclosure, but the penguins don't look to have much joy.
In any case, personal favorite of the challenge.
