The sun was shining brightly on the birdhouse but the background was shielded by overhanging trees. I love the shadow of the bird on the birdhouse and the purposeful task of the bluebird isolated by the black background and the sun on his back.

Really beautiful, didn’t vote on this challenge, but It would’ve got a top score from me.

a bit later ..
FYI ..
"The saying “to boot” comes from an Old English word bot, meaning “advantage” or “remedy.” It’s related to the contemporary English words better and best, so if something’s “to boot,” it’s added or extra. This is part of a complete episode."

this is outstanding .. i should have voted in this challenge but i've had really slow internet so its too much of a pain .. i would have given you a 10 .. it totally fits the challenge and is a magic shot to boot ..
now i'm going to google the original of the saying 'to boot' .. its a weird one .
congrats on fourth place btw and a perfect image for the challenge .. :)

I very much like the light hitting the bluebird and the resultant shadow on the house. I'm thinking you could lose quite a bit from the bottom - crop just below the shadow leaving a bit of breathing room but not much. The resultant horizontal would emphasize the story, I think, and get rid of that boring bright bottom that my eye wants to focus on. 7
