 there were paper daisies lying around on the ground after my brother slashed the paddock .. they hadnt died yet .. i noticed ants on them and got down to get shots of the ants on the paper daisies .. then realized that the flash was creating a rather nice shine on the petals ..

took more photos thinking of this shiny challenge ..
none of the ones with ants worked for the composition as the ants move too much ..

so i put this paper daisy on a fence post and took a few shots .. it was literally closing up as i was taking photos ..

i thought i could get something way better setting something up .. using this flower but with more shine .. thinking mirror for reflection and water ..

so i set up the paper daisy on a mirror and took a heap of shots .. got them on the computer and deleted most of them ..

i had wanted the sky in the reflection but because it was so windy outside 45km/hr winds .. i had to shoot the flower inside the house .. and was difficult to line it up so i got the blue sky in the shot ..

also clouds were zooming past so lots of the shots that worked for the flower and reflection looked like the background was blown out because a white cloud was there ..

anyway ..
not sure how this will go ..

such a lovely idea to pick a papaer daisy, even the outtakes are wonderful. I especially love the outake #1

Loved hearing your story of trial and error and your perseverence in getting a result you were happy with. It̢۪s a beautiful result. Sometimes we end up with something different than what was imagined that actually turns up better! I like your outtakes as well. Congrats on HM.
