 Lighted my face from the left through an LCD projector with a simple vertical stripy pattern on one half-screen, and pure black on another. The trick was to find the right position and turn the head just right so the dark "face" appeared. Just a tiny shift, and it's gone. So, controlling my camera through a phone app was essential, I could not possibly have done it without it.

P.S. 0.0057 below my 10-yr old PB... Arghh! Still a very cool score, and lots of nice comments, much appreciated! In fact, for most of the week it incredibly stayed above 8! And it dropped under my PB just in the last hour or so. Oh well ))

P.P.S. Another thing I just noticed: all four of my top-scoring photos have me in the frame. I guess I should enter more selfies :)

nothing anonymous about this pic .
it has your brilliant black and white editing style ..
the way your portraits have such impact ..
and that added indefinable something .. :)

also i just want to add ..
i've been wanting to do a portrait with the light coming thru blinds for a long long time .. never get anyone to pose for me .. they're always too busy and dont want to spare 5 - 10 minutes ..:(
and unfortunately a self portrait wouldnt be as aesthetically pleasing as a photograph of a more attractive individual .
you are very lucky in that respect .. you have a very good looking face ... :)
