Thanks for all the great comments. This was not a set up shot. I had just gotten a new lens 2 days earlier and this was one of the first shots with it. It was taken in a drainage ditch by work. A few keen-eyed voters spotted the nails and other stuff I didn't even see at the time. Over all I'm please since this is only my second submission. Many more to come. |

Great idea to focus a small amount of yellow in the shot. However I think the composition needs work because it seems too scattered |

Nice contrast of colors - the muted background colors make the small area of yellow leaf the clear subject. I think a crop that eliminated the grayish paddle-shaped leaf on the right would have improved the picture. |

The truth is you need to use the 640 pixels to give impact to the viewer, if you are using less than that, you are just missing some points which the photo deserves. for this photo, I am not very happy with the wood scrap .. only the mud would be better IMO |

I thinkg that this would have more impact if it was BW except for the leaf. |

Masterful. You create a desaturated look without desaturating. And, on top of that, the subtle browns in the bark make this image trascend beyond simple desaturation. So very nice... an 8 from me. |

Excellent arrangement. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, I can zoom in on the image with my browser. The picture does not hold up as well. The ground surface contains a lot of nails and other artifacts which seem out of place with a natural woods like occurrence. A 6. |
