to photograph a butterfly drinking thru its proboscis is a great moment .. especially as they dont spend much time at each flower ..
from my research i'm pretty sure this butterfly is an Australian Painted Lady ..

some interesting info ..
stuff i didnt now until i started photographing insects ..

"Butterflies have a long tongue, called a proboscis, which they can curl and uncurl to drink through like a straw. ... Butterflies use their proboscis to drink sweet nectar from flowers. Nectar sometimes resides deep within a flower and the proboscis allows the butterfly to reach this sugary treat."

Roz, this caught my eye during the challenge and again when reviewing the results. The soft colors and textures are so beautiful against the butterfly̢۪s sharp eye and proboscis. A wonderful shot!
