 i went for a walk thinking of this challenge .
i saw a couple of white cabbage butterflies flitting from flower to flower ..
when the sun was between them and me i noticed the beautiful light shining thru the wings ..
felt if i could get a shot of that it would satisfy the challenge especially when they landed on a flower lit up by the sun ..

i usually like to use the flash for my insect shots especially when the sun is behind them ... like fill flash .. but to get the radiance of the sun coming thru their wings i had to forgo my usual ..

hope this appeals to the voters .
i had a few other shots that i considered ..
and not just insects .. !! .. ;)

after rollover ..
WOW .. !! ..
and this actually went up a little bit in the last few hours before rollover .. which is unusual for my photos ..
had to say that as i have been known to have a whinge when my score drops a lot in those last few hours ..
always good to balance the positives and negatives .. ;)

Great shot, fill flash would have illuminated the stem and detracted from the butterfly. Wonderful as is. Congrats.

Another marvelous image. You've shown the butterfly as the sun or moon, flowers as stars. Almost seems you can do no wrong. Love the soft green of the eye, kind of echoed in the bokeh. Many of your images are dramatic. This is dreamy.
