Firstly, this is a real centipede, not a fake one :-).
Funny BG story: I had found one of these dead several years back and kept it in my "treasure box". The box is with a lot of paraphernalia and sometimes I have to rummage a bit to find what I am looking for. So, I was looking for something else when this fellow fell out ... odd, because the box may fall out, but I was surprised to find the animal. I am really squeamish when it comes to creepy crawlies, so I took a piece of paper to pick it up - carefully so I wouldn't break him and was surprised that he was very pliable .. hmmm. The idea came for the bookworm, I set it up (there is a small stone inside the book to make the hole for him). All set, I played with my setting and when I next looked I could have sworn he had moved. I chided myself for being such a sissy and letting my imagination run wild ... re-positioned the centipede, played with the camera, got focus and .... watched the animal move!!! (it didn't help I had a ghost set up above to photograph for Halloween!!) :-P. It took me several minutes to realize that the thing was indeed still alive and was not my original dead one in the treasure chest, but a new one ...
Thank goodness I had not touched it!!! Yikes ... :-)))

You can be really glad you didn't as those centipedes give a very nasty painful bite
