Wonderful image, congrats on this and all of you're amazing and beautiful works of art. Unusual to see photography so well done in so many different types of work from portraiture to insects. I hope you print your images and sell them, they are so beautiful.

thankyou Debbi and everyone for your lovely comments .. xx

re the shallow depth of field .. lots of the insects i shoot are quite small .. this long legged fly is about the size of a mosquito .. and i'm quite close .. so the background gets very out of focus ..
this particular photo was focus stacked .. i took photo of the body and the eyes and the droplets .. three photos which i manually combined in photoshop ..

Debbi .. you have the canon 100mm macro so you could take similar photos with that lens .. thats the lens i used before i went mirrorless .. i think the quality of the canon 100mm macro is a lot better than what i shoot with now .. ie. the olympus with the 60mm macro .. (equates to 120mm on the canon) .. but the smaller size and weight of the mirrorless suits me better ..

once again .. thankyou so much everyone .. i really appreciate the feedback .. converting Dalina to thinking insects are beautiful was awesome .. xx

I never thought that the world of insects could be so beautiful. But your pictures convinced me otherwise

Just looking at those water drops again, they look like crystal clear marbles. Such beautiful perfection in your images.
